Our Milk & Mocha
Review of Milk & Mocha comics collection
Book author: Melani sie
My husband has a physical office and I enjoy packing lunch for him. After lunch hour at the office, all the lunch boxes are washed together by the office staff. So, sometimes he would come home with an identical lunch box of someone else's, because someone else has already taken his, even though I wrote his name in every piece of the box with a permanent marker pen. So, I purchased a new lunchbox for him from New Delhi to lessen the chance of the box having an identical twin at Samudro’s office. The box has a separable compartment inside where I put the veggies and meat, and rice in the outer compartment. Now, one day he came home without the inner compartment. And, I have been feeling a little sad and asking him about the update of a piece of plastic everyday. Is it found yet? Because my love and my life—surround with small things that can be underwhelming to others. But that’s me. And I have found my Mocha who understands this.
Milk and Mocha is the comic that has been attached to both of us from the beginning of our relationship. It’s an emotion for us, and it just suits our expressions. Samudro used to send me these wholesome comics and I asked him where do you find these. He sent me a twitter page and I finally created my first twitter account to subscribe to Milk & Mocha.
The comic book is the compilation of some of the online comics. I purchased it to keep a physical copy and show my support, because it can be just a comic, but to me it’s as important as the separable compartment in my husband’s lunchbox. I care about it too much!
We went through the pages together. Reminisced about our messaging days. How we used to send each other stickers before saying good night. A compulsory “I love you” message, heart emojis. Everything was kiddy, but so out of heart.
And so is the story of these two bears. Worth visiting their instagram page with the same name. Milk & Mocha brings a wholesome feeling in the busyness of life.
