Nepal Photo Album
This is our photo album of Nepal trip. We visited Kathmandu, Pokhara, Nagarkot. And brought home amazing memories from Annapurna Base Camp trail. The photos are from the last week of October, 2025
Kathmandu
Just landed!
Welcome to Nepal! First time backpacking...
We stayed at hotel Vistara in Kathmandu, it was at a prime location, yet so quiet for a capital city. Loved the view from the rooftop. And I admired the windows, even this bathroom windows!
A little chilled air on the afternoon of late October
View of Kathmandu valley from the rooftop. All sides boast mountains!
The city is decorated with lights from the Tihar festival
From the rooftop cafe
Streets of Thamel
In many places we saw rangoli like this, often a banana left at one corner.
Thamel was buzzing a bit less because of the post-Tihar quietness
The shops were attracting me with the singing bowls, beautiful statues of Buddha, teas, leaves. I successfully came out of the market with my planned shopping items only.
Pokhara
Fewa lake, from our hotel, Beach Lodge.
Just my kind of picture...
The hills near Few lake were surrounded by clouds most of the time
Who is modeling for Fastrack watch?
Loved this bougainvillea corner!
Breakfast was yummy, very much appreciate the fruits!
Showtime
Now we start our journey to Jhinu from Pokhara, to start the trek. The whole time, we followed the peaks, which look like gigantic tub of vanilla ice-cream painted in the sky. I loved this picture so much, a busy day in a small town, bikes and cars honking, electric poles carrying tons of wires, constructions made in a haste... above all the mountain ranges rise, like the guardians.
Mountains can make a story, in an otherwise ordinary town.
We followed the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhare peak and the Dhaulagiri range. This shot is taken from the jeep, in a haste, like many others. We get to see most of the things outside glass window, and the most beautiful things never get filmed!
At Nayapul
Annapurna Base Camp trail
The whole team-at the left our guide, then another hiker from Poland, we and our porter at the right
Very enthusiastic first selfie after starting our trek
Enthusiasm is vaporizing fast
After one hour or so, found a village, brought juices and emptied them... They are selling Pran juices in the trail! Fancy cans, varieties of flavors, never saw them in Dhaka.
The villages are decorated with beautiful flowers. An easy trap to attract hikers like me...
I loved this view, Samudro crossing a village. Most of the pics are me taking a picture of him from the behind, as I was falling behind, meh...
Falling more behind...
The village is brightly lit with new prayer flags!
One of the few stupas we crossed on the way! They suit so much with the trail.
Disclaimer: Samudro's beard is not white, neither are my cheeks. It's just good mineral sunscreen
At the first suspension bridge, Samudro was very serious about me not losing his phone trying to take pictures. At the second one, I screamed "Trust me, trust me" and he let me take photos, even gave a pose.
When he wasn't looking, I took more daring pictures, even filmed some things
At the end of day one of trekking. We reached Sinuwa just after sunset. And discovered that peaks light up like moon in the darkness!
The next morning, before sunrise
Machhapuchhare peak, after sunrise. This peak is a highlight of the trail, like the pole star of ABC trail.
Ready-sheddy for the day's hike!
Nothing, just flowers
That little kiss of sun on the back, beautiful blue from the morning light, looking pretty handsome!
Enjoying the limited-time rich feeling of drinking morning tea gazing at the mountains
So I adjusted my trekking poles shorter to take pictures, later it took me few minutes and judgy eyes to adjust them long again.
And my pictures are mostly from the front, because I was lagging behind... meh. Behind with the red covered bag, our guide. He is so patient to follow my slow pace.
This place we took a number of shots, at about 8 o' clock or so, the colors come out the best!

I loved this one! I have seen so many pictures of Japan's Mount Fuji, where it's in the background of leaves, trees... I wanted to capture that vibe of layers of richness.
Play of light and shadow
Looks like the pictures drawn at fairy-tale books-stones laid at an even pace, trees border the path, and blue mountains...
Look, who's in front now?
Shadows, playing on our faces this time.
Isn't this the small village from the Grimm's fairytale?
Stopped for an apple break, it was a Mustang apple, or that's what the seller told me. It tasted very very good though!
Many many waterfalls, I think a drone shot could do justice.
Just opposite, a temple. Samudro paraded and rang all the bells while I filmed.
Big hanging rock from the mountains. And my man.
Sun-struck!
Pancakes on top of another
We ended the second day at Deurali. The sky was not full clear, but we saw some peaks and stars. The peaks paint the sky of mountains just like stars and the moon!
Another rich morning in the mountain. How lucky to wake up and have morning tea, hearing the sound of river, watching mountains surround all sides...
La la la la....
Views getting rocky on the final day of ascned
Let's photoshoot!
Gangapurna, a twin mountain came to our view on the third day. Our guide told us that twin children born in Nepal are often named Ganga and Purna, after this twin mountains.
Mountains and sea, I mean Samudro
Looking behind, leaving out the greenish mountains
The terrain got strawy now
This cotton cotton flowers we saw. Also patches of ice!
Namaste from MBC!
Naren, our porter, takes very good pictures!
Annapurna range, appearing slowly
Eating apple at MBC guest house stop and asking Samudro to let me rest for 10 more minutes.
View from MBC
What beauty we saw...
The other side of Machhapuchhare
Now, the last part of the journey, from MBC to ABC. I was feeling sick, AMS hit me. I was walking slower than a tortoise and stopping 20 seconds after 10 steps. Samudro came to give me moral boosts. I was feeling very emotional too during this time, what if I cannot make it... Terence, our guide took the candid.
More candids from Terence
Terence has a way of taking pictures with angles, liked this one.
Cloud was hovering on the mountains, now and then
Samudro and I both captured photos, but Samudro did the most, thanks to him for taking these photos, I was so busy just surviving, didn't even look at what lies in front of me for some time...
"Look, ABC there, just 10 minutes," Samudro and Terence were cheering me up
There was a long queue of people for taking the trademark picture. Terence let us bypass the queue and click click... hasty shots. We thought we would take more photos the next day
The teahouse where we stayed the night at ABC. It had crystal clear glass windows. View from my window.
It started snowing from the evening
Good morning! We woke up to a winter land, fresh snow covered everywhere. The roofs were piled with snow and often the heavy piles fell from the roofs.
Garlic soup, saved my life. Learned that it's very good for altitude.
So the "next day", who knew there would be snowfall, and no time to stop on a challenging, freshly snowed trail. One more time, hasty shots. The journey started a long ago, researching on trekking boots, finding trekking guide, planning, budgeting, all these times this moment came to me, we standing in front of this board "Namaste" and smiling like victorious... that feeling is still stamped in my head. The pictures did not come out as I imagined, but thankful to life for the surprises. Loved this moment as it came.
First experience of watching snowfall in our life. It doesn't make any sound! It is near the waterbodies where we could hear the snow land, as landing on water made a slapping sound. This is the lake between ABC and MBC.
We ate apples sitting on these benches at MBC the previous day!
Just the other day, they were green, now they are wearing a black and white suit
Snow turned to rain by Deurali. Hands freeze when we remove the hand gloves to take pictures!
I loved this trail, rain soaked autumn in the forest...
The final day of trek.

The green was more luscious after a day of rain
There there. The last day we pushed ourselves. Samudro was ChatGPT all day and telling me, next village 1 hour, tracking my progress and encouraging me every now and then. Was I like the ponies of ABC trail and he my shepherd?
Where we started. Samudro's hair all soaked with sweat, we did it!
Nagarkot
Before sunrise, sky not that clear
Above clouds we stayed, and soon clouds visited our room too
Missed magical views from Nagarkot, but that's life
All day reading and looking outside, no luck though
Deep thoughts
Himalayan Range
Ta da Nepal!
Wait, showtime not over!
The Himalayan range appeared as a series of sparkling diamonds from the plane windows
Until next time, bye bye Himalayas! You stole our hearts 💙
