Girls That Invest: My first finance read!
Book title: Girls That Invest
Book author: Simran kaur
I found this book from a goodreads friends’ reading list and got interested. This is my first book on finance and I loved it! This book is for beginners like me who do not know how the hell stock works, what is crypto currency etc. Like the author herself, I was enraged to know that stock market basics are so simple! Now I can debate about index funds, hedge funds and what not! The book builds upon the basics and at the end makes you a graduate from investor in training.
Girls that Invest starts with emphasizing how it is important for women or for anyone to be financially free. The basics can be simple, but Simran Kaur made the difference by laying down the foundation in this easy manner, like the best teachers. Each chapter also adds some action items for the investors in training. I left lots of highlights and bookmarks in my kindle copy. My favorite is a graph of the S&P 500 companies' market value over 30 years which I showed to my hubby and my co-workers at work, the point being that the market is always growing.
Overall, this was a great first read on the basics!
